Apel Collection of Early Keyboard Music in Photographic Reproduction
A collection of more than 200 of the most imortant early keyboard works, most pre-1700, reproduced from primary sources (manuscripts and prints). These sources were collected by Willi Apel during research for his History of keyboard music to 1700 / translated and revised by Hans Tischler (Indiana University Press, 1972).
Many of these works are held in hard copy as well as in microfilm. Microfilm copies are shelved in closed stacks as part of the general microfilm collection of the Music Library; hard copies are also shelved in closed stacks, and access is restricted. Materials are cataloged with the local subject heading Apel Collection
