Burning CD's on MAC

Burning with Toast Titanium
Recommended for:
-Copying from an entire CD to an entire CD – audio or mixed media
-Creating a mixed media CD
-Copying onto CD-RW format
1. Open Toast
- Click and hold (or right-click once) the Multimedia or Music folder and choose Toast Titanium
2. Choose the CD type
If you are creating an audio CD, choose the Audio button.
(.aiff, .wav, .mp3…. etc.)
If you are creating a mixed media CD, choose the Data button.
(word, audio, html, etc….any type of files)
If you are copying an entire CD, choose the Copy button. Highlight and drag the files you want to include on your CD to the middle of Toast where it says “Drag sound files or audio tracks into this area”
3. Exporting Tracks from a CD
If you are not copying the CD as a whole, but taking certain tracks, you must use the export process.
- double-click on the CD icon
- drag the track icon(s) from the CD window to the Toast window
- they will show up with a small CD icon
- hit the export button
- then they will have an audio file icon
- now the track is ready to be burnt
NOTE! If you are creating a mix CD, after you drag the track icon into the window, you must extract all the tracks you chose from that CD before you take the CD out to put in another CD.
4. RecordPress the red Record button in the lower right side of the Toast window.
Burning with iTunes
1. Insert CD and iTunes usually opens automatically
2. Choose CD under Source

For commercial CDs, a recent feature of iTunes allows one obtain track information online: Select all the tracks (Apple key and A) under the Song Name menu and under the 'Advanced' menu, choose 'Get CD Track Names'.
3. Click on the plus sign + to create a playlist and name your playlist
4. Check the Preferences menu under iTunes
5. Click Importing in the Preferences box
6. Choose the type of audio file you wish to use to import. (AIFF or WAV are used for exact CD quality. AAC and MP3 are higher quality/compressed formats respectively.)
7. Click OK
8. Drag the files you want to burn on your new CD to the playlist. From here, one can mount any amount of CDs, one after the another, to import a compilation of tracks.
9. When you are finished creating your playlist for your new CD, click on the BurnDisc button
10. Insert a blank CD and click Burn Disc
NOTE: the default format for burning produces a disk to be played on comercial CD players. To change to other formats (for example to create an mp3 CD) look under the Preferences under the iTunes menu.
