ADDING COPIES 1. Search shelflist for card. a. If card has IO on it, or is an IO shelflist card, do not pull, mark "IO" on printout. b. If card has any other designation, pull card. 2. Search IO for matching record. a. Make sure to look at bib record to make sure it really is a match. Some things to check are publisher, edition, year of publication, number of pages and parts. b. If not a match give to Karen. 3. Write call number on title page. 4. Make processing card with call number and author/title information for any items that need to be bound. Make sure to stamp with bindery instructions. 5. Go to holdings record to add copy. a. Change copy status and classification type code. Usually they will be 1I when you initially look at the record, you need to change it to 1L. b. If the item is part of a multi-volume set, the copy status will be 2 for an incomplete set and 3 for a complete set. (1) Make volume (MARC) holdings record (Ask for more explanation) c. Type location code. Usually it is "mus". d. Add call number if necessary. EXAMPLE: 002 1L CN mus |b M222.C43 |c W3 6. Create item record for added copy. a. With holdings record on screen, type "citm ". For example above the command would be "citm 2" b. Add enum/chron. info., if applicable c. Scan barcode in Item ID. If the item needs to go to bindery staple the barcode to the processing card. 7. Add any other copy holding needed to match shelflist card. a. Do not create item records for these. b. Write "IO" in top right hand corner of card.
